Communication Assessment & Therapy

Difficulties with speech, language, communication and cognition are common after ABI. They can affect everyday life, relationships, work, education, problem solving, a person’s ability to manage information and advocate for themselves, and their wellbeing.

Specialist assessment identifies strengths, challenges and the underlying cognitive‑communication profile.

Eating, Drinking and Swallowing Assessment & Therapy

Swallowing changes – also known as dysphagia – can occur following an Acquired Brain Injury, stroke or progressive neurological conditions.

A specialist Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (EDS) assessment provides a clear understanding of risk, safety and support needs.

Functional Neurological Disorder

Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is characterised by neurological symptoms occurring without structural brain disease.

FND is recognised by the NHS and major health organisations as a common and treatable condition where individuals experience disabling symptoms where the underlying pattern differs from traditional neurological diseases.

Vocational Rehabilitation

Returning to work after an acquired brain injury is rarely just about physical recovery. For many adults, language, speech, cognitive‑communication difficulties and executive dysfunction are the biggest barriers to successful vocational rehabilitation.

Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) play a central role in helping individuals rebuild the communication and thinking skills needed to participate confidently, safely and sustainably in the workplace.
